Mount Spec, Paluma Range National Park - Rising high above the coastal plains, cloaked in tropical rainforest and dissected by numerous streams, Mount Spec is the southernmost national park section in the Wet Tropics World Heritage Area.

Mount Fox, Girringun National Park - Rising above surrounding eucalypt woodlands, the conical Mount Fox is an ancient volcano with a large crater. Interesting geological features include large volcanic boulders known as fusiform bombs.
